A Tiffany Lamp...The Mall...Somewhere in Hessen..Day 32
If you are following along...the Native Ninja (Sabine) may be moving soon. So she had a few antique lamps that she wanted to get appraised. Off we went to the big city of Frankfurt to an antique dealer.
So the antique dealer was a bust. We headed to a nearby mall. Sabine with a rolling cart of items, me with the hanging dining room version of a Tiffany lamp. The mall (MyZeil) had an antique dealer in it that might have been able to give her a better appraisal.
This mall sits inside of a walking thoroughfare that spans approximately 4 US blocks. It is a hustle bustle kind of energy like NY. So we are determined to get this appraisal she with the rolling tote and me carrying the lamp.
RE-ENACTMENT:
I digress....the mall was Incredible...
I could not fully capture the beauty of the architecture of this place. It was breath-taking. The pics on this website do way more justice than mine...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyZeil
We got to the top (about 5 floors with cool see-thru elevators) and the antique shop was...GONE! Lugging all that stuff around to different shops, getting odd looks in the mall...I thought..."thank God I am a tourist and nobody knows me here..."
Sabine decided that we needed to see a bit of Frankfurt while we were in town...
We stopped by the Westhafen Marina and had a delicious drink at the Urban Multilounge which sits very close to the Main River.
Sidenote...there were beautiful sinks in the bathroom...I could not resist taking pictures...
We took some "tourist" shots outside...fab yachts, walking bridges etc...enjoy...
It was a great adventure in Frankfurt on a Friday night.
