See Frankfurt!
Frankfurt was the first foreign city I ever landed in airport-wise. In 2006, I touched down and was instantly amazed by the beautiful mix of the "old world" buildings beautifully blended with the modern parts of the city. My friend/guide took me to have schnitzel in a beer garden type restaurant and then the next night we had wings and beer at a good ole U.S.A. type sports bar!
My favorite memory of Frankfurt was a trip into the woods to visit one of the oldest churches in Germany. A towering structure, with the backdrop of a full moon and wild animal sounds. We were too afraid to stay long, but it is a memory that I will forever hold dear to my heart.
I would recommend Frankfurt to anyone looking to have the comforts and activity of a big city but still the charms of an older town still in development. In the short span of a week we covered sites in Frankfurt, the beautiful and majestic Weisbaden as well as lovely little towns in between the two.

I Go Away To Find Myself
"I go away to find myself, so that when I come back home I am truly there" Anonymous
Travel has always been a blessing and a curse. The anxiety I feel in trying to pack for weather on the other side of the world. Some of the rude people I have encountered going through the TSA checkpoints and customs make me MAD! The general feeling of butterflies going crazy in my stomach on the plane's take off and landing. It all ends up making me a virtual wreck.
Then I see my friend/guide waiting for me and I know that all is right in the world. Traveling has expanded my mind and allowed me to see new things through these old eyes. It allows me to feel freer than I've ever felt anywhere else. It gives me hope.
I am not much of a talker...especially about personal items. But if someone asks I will happily tell them all about the few trips I have taken thus far and the ones I am planning for in the near and distant future. I love talking about how beautiful Spain was. How majestic the few cities in Germany were. How awesomely AT HOME I felt in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Travel is magical.
I highly encourage anyone who dares to save their money and book a flight. Get a good travel guide (Sabine is the best) and go see something you've never seen before. It will warm your soul and help you see that the world is much bigger than your cubicle or block.
I am humbled and grateful to have someone who took the time to get to know me, plan special events for me and let me see things that otherwise I never would have seen. Thank you Sabine and God Bless your adventures as a world class travel guide!
